Update on Allstar Foundation!

Quick update about Allstar Foundation! Allstar Foundation is currently supporting 11 students with special needs who are receiving one-to-one therapy for one or two sessions per week.  Each child has an assessment completed and an IEP developed to help guide the services.  The services are provided by the professionals at Allstar Psychological Services.

Allstar Foundation is also providing two to four free assessments per week for clients who come through Allstar Psychological Services, but are unable to pay for the services.  After the assessment, these clients will enter into monthly consultation services and will enter weekly services when a space opens up.

Starting May 7, we launched our Summer Program Fundraising Campaign!  This program runs from June 16 to July 26.  This program will provide each student with one-to-one assistance along with support for the families.  A donation of $200 USD will cover one student’s full cost for the six week program!  Please help us to raise the money to continue to support the current 11 families, but to also provide support to 10 to 20 more families!

Thank you all for the continued support of Allstar Foundation! Every donation goes to changing a child’s life!

Sincerely,

Kristin Pipho

Program Director

The Story….

My journey in Ethiopia begun in October of 2017 when I begun student teaching in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the International Community School of Addis Ababa. This was my first time visiting Africa and I nervous, but super excited. This where the real journey begun. I taught at ICS for five years in a variety of teaching positions from preschool to grade three to special needs. After five years, I decided that I wanted to leave ICS and start an organization that focused primarily on special needs.

The first year was hard. My husband and I had recently married and welcomed our first child. I was trying to work out of a local preschool and my husband was doing private work. Then, the second year, we opened Allstar Psychological Services. This organization has grown quickly. We started with six staff and six students and we know have 45 staff and service over a 150 students. During this time, we have come to realize the need for special needs services in Ethiopia. At this time, we begun to realize that many were unable to access our services due to financial limitations. Thus is why, we have created the ALLSTAR Foundation. This organization is a certified 501(c)(3). We are currently in the start-up fundraising stage so that we can launch our nonprofit services. Please consider donating today and spreading the word so that we can start providing high quality services to those in need.
